Music/Media Licensing Guide
The use of music is growing as fast as the technology that supports it.
Understandably, also on the increase are the number of licensing schemes required to monitor, control and collect for the use of this music. This is all on top of the traditional print, publishing and recording rights........
If you think about it, there is music everywhere!

But what type of licence is required for what use?
A few examples are:
To use music in a film or television programme = Synchronisation Licence
Music use on a Website = MCPS-PRS Joint Licence
A Public Performance = PRS and PPL Licence
To arrange someone elses music = Arrangement Licence direct from Publisher
To perform a musical = Grand rights Licence from publisher or rights holder
And the list goes on...
